The Signs Are Up

December 19, 2011

Updated, planning details can be found online at MK Partnership, click here to see the planning details.

You may have noticed that some pink signs are up on a couple of lamposts in Milland Way, a week after the submission to trash Oxley Woods arrived from Wimpey.

Go read them.

Then please object, object in the strongest terms.

At the time of writing we still cannot find any details of the application online, which we thought would be become available via the online planning portal system. Perhaps this is different as its a builder just looking to do what they want and add a couple of new hoses, so therefore doesn’t have to go through the same level of scrutiny as if an individual wanted to put up a small outhouse or something? I don’t know.

BBC feature focuses on Oxley Woods

August 12, 2011

Oxley Woods housing, and their residents, have been featured as part of a wider BBC series fronted by Alvin Hall, regarding the financial state of the nation, and in particular on how this generation could be destined to be poorer than their parents.

You can read the BBC website article and listen in to the radio show live on Saturday 13th and Wednesday 17th August, as well as on BBC iPlayer.

Egg-cellent news from a neighbour

August 9, 2011

Yep, couldn’t avoid that pun, as much as I tried (which wasn’t very hard, to be honest).

Great news! You can now purchase free range eggs in Oxley Woods. They’re not from chickens that live on the estate, but they come from very close by and are cared for by our neighbours. So there’s low food mileage and supporting a small local enterprise providing at least two good reasons to buy.

For more details on how to place an order, please see the forum classifieds, here: Free Range Eggs For Sale.

Oxley Woods Big Lunch a big success

June 18, 2011

The first Oxley Woods Big Lunch took place a little while back, and it was an all out success.

Members of the community, both long standing and more recently settled residents came together, despite the dubious weather, and a jolly good time was had by all, young and old!

Many thanks must go to the team of people who helped put the day together, I hope you all feel very proud of your contribution to our fledgling community!

You can check out some photos of the day via our Flickr link at the top of the page, and even more over at a fellow resident’s flickr page.

Oxley Woods big lunch confirmed

May 29, 2011

Sunday, 5th June. The park with the ponds and oak tree at the end of Lorre Mews.

Setting up for those wanting to take part starts at 12pm. Festivities begin from around 12:30pm.

Bring your own food/BBQ/drink… Anything you’d like to contribute. All residents should have had a leaflet through the door from the organisers.

Let’s hope the weather is good! :D

Discussion, as ever, in the Oxley Woods forum.
