Free water saving device for your showers

Really, this a proper free offer. We ended up with two because my mum’s house has an electric power shower, and it doesn’t work with those, but I digress…

We went to this offer website for a free eaga shower smart water saving device, ordered it, it arrived, and it works! I was a little surprised as I didn’t think our ground up eco houses would require an extra device to make the showers efficient, but the “test bag” they supplied filled up over the “above this line and you will save water” mark, we installed the device (very easy) and hey-presto, water saving goodness!

We try not to waste water as much as possible anyway, but these are an easy “do it once and forget it” way of cutting down on your water usage, and they’re free too, perfect!

So after you’ve been using the little piece of metal for a while what do you really think about it?

I received one yesterday, ordering it after reading this, and I’m a bit disappointed, I’m sure my morning shower took longer due to the water flow been lower so not having as much rinse power. So I think the water savingness is not really going to happen, and it’s also going to use more of my time up.

I’m happy with them (we got two, my mum got one but it doesn’t work with her shower!). They do slow the flow a bit, but I’ve just moved the dial on the main shower around to a slightly more “powerful” jet setting and it works fine for me (quite possibly negating the benefit at the same time?!).

I don’t find myself spending any longer in the shower, and I don’t think my wife COULD spend any longer in the shower (now I’m in trouble). Perhaps we just got used to the lower power, I did notice it more at first, but not at all now. Probably would if we took them off again though!
