Egg-cellent news from a neighbour

August 9, 2011

Yep, couldn’t avoid that pun, as much as I tried (which wasn’t very hard, to be honest).

Great news! You can now purchase free range eggs in Oxley Woods. They’re not from chickens that live on the estate, but they come from very close by and are cared for by our neighbours. So there’s low food mileage and supporting a small local enterprise providing at least two good reasons to buy.

For more details on how to place an order, please see the forum classifieds, here: Free Range Eggs For Sale.

Oxley Park parks arrive!

July 24, 2011

Children (and grown ups) have been overjoyed and over-exercised this week as finally Oxley Park can live up to its name as several of the play areas along the linear parks which run through the estate opened up for play time, just in time for the summer holidays!

It’s been absolutely terrific to see children young and old out and about, and our kids have met many new friends as they’ve made their way from park to park every day.

Apparently plans were slightly changed after some objections from residents elsewhere on the estate, which means we have a play park, pond and parkland outside our property now, and it’s absolutely brilliant. The way the play areas are dotted through the estate makes any foot journey more fun, if MUCH longer, for anyone with kids, or a bit of adventure and fun in their souls.

Brilliant news all round.

Public exhibition of Oxley Woods plans

July 6, 2011

A public exhibition is to take place on July 13th 2011 at The Church of Christ the Cornerstone in Central Milton Keynes.

All residents should have received an invitation to attend a public display of the revised plans for the Oxley Woods development, and comment forms will also be available to provide feedback on the proposals should those attending wish to do so.

Apparently ”the development team“ will be on hand to answer questions and provide further information.

Discussion is already underway in the Oxley Woods Living Forums concerning the event.

Full address is: The Church of Christ the Cornerstone, 300 Saxon Gate West, Milton Keynes, MK9 2ES. Exhibition times are 3pm to 7:30pm

Oxley Woods Big Lunch a big success

June 18, 2011

The first Oxley Woods Big Lunch took place a little while back, and it was an all out success.

Members of the community, both long standing and more recently settled residents came together, despite the dubious weather, and a jolly good time was had by all, young and old!

Many thanks must go to the team of people who helped put the day together, I hope you all feel very proud of your contribution to our fledgling community!

You can check out some photos of the day via our Flickr link at the top of the page, and even more over at a fellow resident’s flickr page.

Oxley Woods big lunch confirmed

May 29, 2011

Sunday, 5th June. The park with the ponds and oak tree at the end of Lorre Mews.

Setting up for those wanting to take part starts at 12pm. Festivities begin from around 12:30pm.

Bring your own food/BBQ/drink… Anything you’d like to contribute. All residents should have had a leaflet through the door from the organisers.

Let’s hope the weather is good! :D

Discussion, as ever, in the Oxley Woods forum.
